Just wondering where the solar eclipse is going to be most visible from in Australia... do we have to travel out to the middle of the desert like last time??? Or will we be able to spy this one from some beautiful tropical location in Queensland???

Information on the place most interesting for at the same time following the eclipse and making a very beautiful festival will be given from here at two years with the Australian friends with whom we will prepare this meeting.
A website will be built and put on line soon, and this forum is intended to be used by those and those which wish to communicate on this go in November 2012.
While waiting this go, we can communicate, exchange and meet here and there some share on planet while waiting to find all and all for the total eclipse.

Well it's gonna hit northern Queensland at approx 6:39am on 14th November (20:39 13 November UTC). All the eclipse times are quoted in UTC and Queensland is UTC +10 hours.

The shadow will probably miss Cairns but hit Port Douglas.

By my reckoning the totality at this location should last for 2min and 4-8 sec.

port douglas and cairns are the most likely viewing spots. They reckon its most recognisable from port douglas because its closer to the tip of australia and more open. the weather and places to hold it are great as well and we're in qld. no travelling.

The location for the event has been sorted out however at this stage all we can say it is a little north of Cairns. A couple of websites you can check out are:

For those of you intending to travel up here to the Cairns region before the 2012 Solar Eclipse there are some excellent annual events you can attend... They include SolarFX, Winter Solstice, Labyrinth, Earthdance, Illumination, Landcrabs, Seven Doves and many, many more..... I'll keep you all posted.

These are very exciting times not only for the Psy/Prog scene but also for all humankind with some major changes occurring globally. When we are all of the same mind and spirit we will certainly progress towards a more cohesive and peaceful society... This is just the beginning...
